Four information resources for founders

To aid with business ideation, I purchased a template canvas called “The big pad of 50 + 50”.

Coincidentally I have one of their books too. They call the canvas a “supplement to business model generation and value proposition design”. It’s by Alex Osterwalder et. al (I should probably note this is not sponsored.)

To highlight a couple details, there are a series of boxes where it indicates you should write a list, relevant to your business/a business idea you are interested in.

One of the boxes is called ‘key partners’. Below, in a smaller font, it asks questions like, ‘who are our key suppliers’ and, ‘what activities do the partners perform’.

Another box is called ‘channels’. Sub-questions include ‘through what channels do our customer segments want to be reached?’, and of these channels, ‘which are best’ or ‘most cost effective’.

These are just two of the nine sections that stood out to me, that I thought might be worth sharing.

“A common frustration in the scientific community is the lack of accessibility to advanced research tools and equipment, especially for researchers in developing countries or smaller institutions. Many scientific breakthroughs are hindered by the high cost and limited availability of specialized research instruments. A compelling startup idea in the science industry would be a Science Equipment Sharing Platform. This platform would connect researchers worldwide, allowing them to share access to expensive or rare scientific equipment that they may not have in their own labs. Researchers could list their available equipment for sharing and find others who need to use specific instruments for their experiments. By leveraging a sharing economy model, this platform could democratize access to cutting-edge research tools, foster collaboration among scientists, and accelerate scientific discoveries.”
